To capitalize on ongoing demand in Australasia, Radfords will double its footprint at this year's premier fresh produce show, Hort Connections, taking place in Adelaide, South Australia, June 5-7.
Customer success manager Royce Sharplin said the company had onboarded and implemented new solutions to multiple significant fresh produce businesses in the past 12 months, including kiwifruit packers DMS, Birchwood Packhouse Limited, cherry exporters Hortinvest Limited, onion exporters Southern Packers of New Zealand, berry producers Maungatapere Berries and Kaikohe Berries, avocado exporters Just Avocados and Southern Paprika, all of New Zealand; and potato exporters Mitolo Family Farms of Australia.
Imminent implementations included a large operator in Western Australia and a new project with an existing customer, kiwifruit producer Trevelyan's of New Zealand, and there were several more major projects in the pipeline, he said.
"We have experienced unprecedented demand for our solutions since the global pandemic – spurred in part by labor constraints, supply chain challenges, and also as a result of consolidation with some larger entities acquiring smaller businesses and seeking to create efficiencies from the outset," he said.
Radfords' software solutions have been designed to transform day-to-day operations for those who grow, pack and/or sell fresh produce. They include orchard/farm management solution FreshGrow, packhouse solution FreshPack, quality solution FreshQuality, and sales and insights solutions FreshSales and FreshInsights.
"Demand has been such that we have added functionality such as handling unit traceability (to include batch tracking of packaging), new sales ordering capabilities that enable EDI with most major retailers in Australia and New Zealand, giving our customers the ability to track their packrun downtime, new integration with RFID technology for bin validation and introduced an approval process for emailing invoices. The list goes on."
Sharplin said as well as increasing its presence in Australia and New Zealand, Radfords was expanding its footprint in the United States, Canada, and Europe in apple, citrus, and kiwifruit production.
Hort Connections attendees can visit Radfords at stands 298 and 299.
