So what is all the buzz about? Why does everyone like them so much, and why are Kiwifruit one of the highest exported fruit of New Zealand?

Benefits of eating Kiwifruit

  • Boosts the Immune System
    • Studies have shown that eating 1 cup of kiwifruit provides about 273 percent of your daily recommended dosage of Vitamin C
  • A super food
    • Packed with nutrients, antioxidants and Vitamins, Kiwifruit are considered a super food which everyone should be eating daily
  • Helps indigestion
    • Kiwifruit are packed with fibre. Hence very good for any indigestion problems which might be lingering

I think I should start eating more Kiwifruit myself!

Kiwi-strawberry yogurt smoothie

Ingredients

3 x Kiwifruit – peeled

1 x Cup of frozen strawberries

½ x Cup of low-fat plain yogurt

Optional: 1 x scoop of vanilla ice-cream

Method

  • Combine all the ingredients together in your blender (except for the optional extra)
  • Place the lid on the blender firmly, blend for 1 minute on high speed, or until smooth
  • Pour into a glass
  • Top with Vanilla ice-cream (optional)
  • Enjoy!
